ProM Documentation

The ProM platform is a plugin-based framework for process mining. The framework is centered around three basic concepts

• Data Objects (1) which live the workspace tab (2),
• Plugins which you can acces via the run tab (3), and
• Visualizers which you can access via the visualizer tab (4)

Data objects, plugins, and visualizer are organized in Packages which you can install via the package manager.

Data Objects

All data and models are represented as Objects (1). The most important ProM objects are

• Event Logs
• Process Models, especially for
  • Petri Nets
  • BPMN Diagrams

Plugins

ProM has Plugins for

• Event Log Filtering
• Process Discovery
• Conformance Checking
• Model Enhancement

Visualizers

ProM has Visualizers for most objects. The most used visualizers in ProM are for

• Event Logs
• Petri Nets
• BPMN Diagrams

Packages

All objects and plugins in ProM are offered through packages, which you can install via the package manager.
