Test what you've learned this week

In this test we ask you questions regarding the things discussed in this week. Please have ProM Lite ready since in this test you need to use the tool.

1 / 10

Given the following trace: <a,b,c,d,e,f,g> and this process model:

Which of the following alignments is a correct or valid alignment?

2 / 10

Consider the following Petri net

and this trace: <a,b,d,c,f,g>

Which of the following is an optimal alignment assuming all individual costs are equal?

3 / 10

Given the following process model

And the following traces with timing information attached to each event:

<a0,b5,c10,d15,f20>

<a0,b5,d12,c16,f20>

<a0,c5,b10,d18,f20>

<a0,e5,f6>

What is the time annotation for the place p8, just before activity f?

4 / 10

Now open ProM lite and import the ‘Receipt phase of an environmental permit application process (WABO) CoSeLoG project’ event log, and the ‘Receipt phase of an environmental permit application process (WABO) CoSeLoG project - Petri net’ Petri net in ProM. Run the ‘Replay a Log on Petri Net for conformance Analysis’ using the imported event log and Petri net. Change the classifier to ‘event name’, and click ‘No, I’ve mapped all necessary event classes’ in the next pop-up. Then click Next and Finish and wait for the calculation to finish. You should now see the alignment projected on the Petri net (if not, select ‘Model projected with Alignments’ on the top right).

What is the overall (rounded) replay fitness as shown in the global statistics?

5 / 10

Investigate the Petri net that you have obtained in the previous question. Where do most of the deviations (i.e. move on model or move on log) occur?

6 / 10

Use the imported event log to inspect the performance of the process, by running the ‘Replay a Log on Petri Net for Performance/Conformance Analysis’-plugin. Click ‘Next’ and ‘Yes’, ‘Next’, ‘Next’, ‘Finish’ to start the calculation. Then select ‘time:timestamp’ as the data type to consider, and ‘No, move on models are assumed to be firing transitions as soon as they are enabled’ in the next popup.

What is the average run time of a case?

7 / 10

In the right part of the process model four dark red elements (two places and two transitions) are shown. Inspect all four of them. Which of these four has overall the highest impact on the average case duration in the process?

8 / 10

Apply the ‘Mine for a Handover-of-Work Social Network’ on the event log that is still imported. Leave all settings on the default. Which statement is true for ‘Resource16’?

9 / 10

In which of the following categories does the process mining activity ‘check’ belong?

10 / 10

Why do process mining activities such as ‘recommend’, and ‘predict’ require more ‘lasagna’-type processes, instead of spaghetti type of processes?
